CB Riverwalk Update

Greenspace volunteers came out on October 10 th to begin this year’s sprucing up of the Riverwalk, that naturalist area just at the end of the boardwalk starting at Weems St. and gracing several hundred feet of riverfront. The Riverwalk is another Greenspace effort to maintain and develop healthy, green, and visitor-friendly public areas of our town.

Volunteers spent two hours in beautiful weather, raking, pruning and shaping up plants, getting them ready for the winter. The Riverwalk is beginning a transition to mostly native plants that are well-adapted to our local conditions, require less water and maintenance, provide vital food and shelter for wildlife, help prevent erosion, and promote a biodiversity within our ecosystem.

Interested in volunteering a few hours to keep the Riverwalk beautiful? We would love having you join us. Contact Greenspace at info@cbgreenspace.org and we’ll be in touch!
